Why I Started Blogging

In 2010, I had my first miscarriage.  I was shocked that it happened to me and I was so lost.  A great friend suggested I read blogs and I started reading Grow Baby Grow.  The author, Katharine, had just had her second miscarriage, our miscarriage and due dates were close together and it was comforting that someone out there could understand how I felt and what I was going through.  The second blog I started following closely was Forget-Me-Not, Oh Lord.  The author, Jamie, and I also had a lot in common as far as miscarriage and due dates were concerned and our birthdays were even only a day apart.  We had both gotten to have ultrasounds on our birthdays, too, HOW COOL IS THAT?!  After a month or so of reading their blogs and commenting back and forth with them, I was compelled to start my own blog.  You can read my first post here: http://mamaalex727.blogspot.com/2010/09/i-dont-really-know-where-to-start-but.html.  Once I started getting my thoughts and feelings out, I felt so much better.  It's not always pretty and I am sad that my honesty has hurt some feelings along the way.  But it was never anything other than 100% honest and I cannot regret that.  Blogging has become like therapy for me, I have always had an easier time expressing myself through writing, and I am blessed to be able to share myself here.
